JUDGES COMMENTS

I would like to thank you for inviting me to judge at your inaugural Dog Show held at Saron Village Hall on July 25th 2010 I think you should be exceptionally pleased  both with the attitude and enthusiasm of the competitors and your chosen venue.

Overall I was impressed with the quality of the dogs sowing, but more especially with their condition and their joy. So many times I judged dogs that really do not want to be there or whose owners are just going through the motions, but at your show I encountered genuine pleasure in both showing and being shown

The classes you had chosen were a delightful combination of the serious and the comic but even the serious were taken in good part and the comic were competed properly.

There were several classes that presented me with a real challenge as so many of the competitors were of sufficient calibre to have won on their day and as a judge I can only say that my final line-up of those class winners was a selection that any judge in any show would have been proud

It is invidious to mention individual dogs but I really do have to comment on just a few.

Melody, my Best in Show was prepared and moved beautifully

Enfis, the German Shepherd bitch who reminded me of the strong working line confirmation seen in the 50s & 60s

And was a strong competitor for BIS

Beau, whose preparation for sausage catching was to catch & eat a bacon sandwich but whose turn out again would

Put him in contention for the top prize

Oliver, who didn’t enjoy being handled but moved excellently with well balanced and controlled impulsion

Lucy, who was presented as well as any lucher I have ever seen

William, the Bichon puppy who moved with the balance poise and gaiety I expect of a quality Bichon Frise.

Jake, a Collie of great presence whose owner exhibited him with fun and dedication

The Bernese/Collie cross who was presented beautifully

There are many many more that deserve a comment Echo’s excellent head, Peters’ presence Chloe’s joy as only a black lab can exhibit my Judges favourite a Pyrenean who moved with ease presence and power and others.

Last but no by no means least  the irrepressible Pero

If there are other owners that would like any individual feedback then please contact  farleycross@btinternet.com
